Loen Entertainment explains IU’s “poor” performance on Kiss & Cry Published On Tuesday, May 24, 2011

On the May 22nd episode of SBS’s “Kim Yuna’s Kiss & Cry“, singer IU displayed her figure skating skills.
She wore a cute, pink dress and even did a cute wave dance to her hit song “Good Day” and Aqua’s “Cartoon Hero“. In the middle of her performance, IU suddenly fell on her knees, but she immediately got up and finished her performance with a youthful heart.
After the broadcast, Netizens stated, “I think there is a reason behind IU’s low score” and “I’m disappointed in her less-than-perfect stage” – revealing their opinions that IU didn’t practice enough for the performance.
On May 23rd, an official from IU’s agency, Loen Entertainment, revealed, “In the past two months, IU’s schedule was very busy and packed. Even with her killer schedule – including schedules overseas and schedules in the country – IU put her heart into practicing her figure skating. There are many times when IU either got up extra early to go to the practice arena or even went late at night even though her body was simply exhausted.”
The official added, “It’s true that overall her practice time was lacking compared to the other participants, but it’s disappointing to see that, even though she made spare time to practice, IU’s efforts are being discolored. She will continue to do her best on the program.”
Meanwhile, the first episode of “Kim Yuna’s Kiss & Cry” aired on May 22nd. The viewers commented, “It appealed to me more than other variety shows because I was able to see the stars’ truthful side”, “It’s good to see the stars work hard amidst their busy schedules”, and “I look forward to the transformations that the stars will be displaying through the program.”
